Problems of stratigraphic correlation of the Permian-Triassic transitional beds in the Transcaucasus and Central Iran

چکیده: Permian–Triassic boundary sections in Iran belong to the best exposures of this important time interval worldwide and work as a standard for the transition beds in the Tethyan Realm. Increasing interest in these sections helped to solve a number of problems, but also created new questions about precise correlation within the region and on a global scale. With a new project, a detailed analysis of geochemistry as well as micropalaeontological and macropalaeontological characteristics of these sections will be achieved.
