On the residual lifetimes of repairable systems

Abstract: Consider a system that is subject to shocks and the system alive with at most N failures.
The first (N -1) failures are rectified by minimal repairs and the Nth failure is fatal to the system.
In this paper, such a system is considered and some aging properties for the residual lifetime of the
system are studied. The exact expression for the mean residual life function of the system based on
the residual of records is obtained.
