Preparation and characterization of polyvinylchloride/thermoplastic polyurethane blend membranes
سال
: 2011
چکیده: Porous membranes were prepared by non-solvent induced phase inversion from miscible blends of
polyvinylchloride and thermoplastic polyurethane. Pure water flux measurement showed that addition
of TPU to PVC results in reduction of the operating pressure of the membranes compared to pure PVC
membranes with best properties obtainable at a blend composition of 75:25 (PVC:TPU). The
performance of blend membranes was examined in the removal of Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 dye
with a molecular weight of 854.02 g/mol from its aqueous solutions. Results indicated that the prepared
membranes are even capable of 100% dye rejection with potential application as nanofiltration
membranes.
