Neomycin resistancy of bladder carcinoma cell line 5637

Abstract: Bladder carcinoma cell line 5637 is a transitional cell line which is frequently used as a model for studying various aspects playing role in bladder cancer and as a source of hematopoeitic growth factors. Genetic manipulation is one of the major technologies used to study different feature of cells, especially cancerous. In this technology cell transfection with expression vectors is a popular method and antibiotics are used as general selection markers for choosing transfected cells.Since 5637 cells have shown resistance to some drugs such as cisplatin and doxorubicin, we analyzed the neomycin resistancy of these cells.
