A 1,2-dibenzoyl-cyclopentadiene derivative as a new potential chelating agent in geological materials

Abstract: In this paper, 2,3-bis(p-methoxybenzoyl)cyclopentadiene(DPMBCP) has been studied as a chelating agent and pKa value was determined by means of spectrophotometric measurement. The sigmid curve of optical density agents pH was constructed and pKa value was onbtained from log I against pH, having their value of 8.27±0.02 at l=421 nm and temperature (t) =25±0.1°C.
