Pedestrian zone planning in line with sustainable development with an emphasis on standards

Abstract

Pedestrian walkways play the significant role in residents' movement in cities and the traffic<br><br>transfer of different areas in the city. Nowadays, the increasing population of cities and traffic<br><br>problems make it essential to pay more attention to creating the sidewalks and pedestrian<br><br>walkways. The development of pedestrian pathways and encouragement of the public to walk will<br><br>play an important role in sustainable development. Designing based on the available laws and<br><br>standards is one of the best ways for designing the pathways with characteristics above. In our<br><br>country, designing the than the pedestrian pathways is less adapted to the laws and available<br><br>standards. This paper seeks to investigate the standards of pedestrian and pedestrian pathways in<br><br>order to determine the overall framework for designing the pedestrian pathways.
