Investigating the Effect of Senior Managers' Strategic Approach on Innovation-Case study of knowledge and technology based corporations covered by science and technology park of Khorasan Razavi

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of senior managers' strategic approach on the performance of knowledge-based corporations covered by Khorasan Razavi Technology and Science Park. The researcher also considered the effects of three variables of gender, education, and age as moderator variables. In other words, the researcher aims to see whether the mentioned variables enhance the effect of senior managers' strategic approach on innovation or vice versa. Developing senior managers' strategic approach makes the corporations seek for opportunities that may occur in the future and provide strong incentives for innovation in the area of traditional products. Therefore, the knowledge and approach of the managers can be important factors in being innovative and the evaluation of their impact on the innovation performance is critical to companies which seek to produce new goods and services. For this purpose, the researcher has provided a questionnaire based on the previous studies. As the analysis unit in the present study is in the organizational level, the questionnaire was distributed among the knowledge and technology based corporations covered by the Park. In order to analyze the data, the SPSS (version 18) and Smart PLS software were utilized. The final results of the study demonstrated that senior managers' strategic approach is an affecting factor on the innovation of knowledge and technology based corporations. Also, it was shown that none of the three mentioned variables (gender, age, and education) moderated the effect.
