description abstractIn this paper two novel cylindrical dielectric resonator

antennas (CDRAs) providing circular polarization (CP) using a

single probe feed are proposed. By splitting the fundamental

mode of cylindrical DR into two near-degenerate orthogonal

resonant modes, CP is obtained. The proposed antennas are

numerically investigated using High Frequency Structure

Simulator (HFSS) based on Finite Element Method (FEM).

Parametric study on both antennas is carried out. The results

show that at least 50 MHz of impedance bandwidth (S11 < -10dB)

at resonate frequency of 1.8 GHz is obtained. Also minimum

Axial Ratio (AR) bandwidth of 14 MHz is achieved. The

investigation shows radiation patterns of the proposed antennas

are remaining broadside throughout the bandwidth.
