Abstract: Fabrication new nanostructures with the possibility of chemically alter and control their functionality is of

great interest in the development of novel functional materials and devices. The interaction of gold nanoparticles with a luminescent conjugated oligothiophenes (LCOs), p-HTMI, was investigated using UV-Vis spectroscopy, Dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The peptide functionalized gold nanoparticles aggregate extensively in the presence of p-HTMI causing a massive red shift of the plasmon band, which indicated a large degree of aggregation as confirmed by DLS and TEM.
